May 2003

Dear colleagues,

Allow me first of all to thank you for your wish to participate in the forthcoming World Seniors Badminton Championships that are a hystorical moment for all of us- the badminton activists.

Unfortunately this start has been put in a very difficult for all of us moment, considering the SARS virus. That is why we are not going to experience the attendance of some our colleagues from Asia, because they have a restriction to travel abroad. We are witnesses of the postponement of the World Championships in England, the IBF AGM that should have been organized paralel with that and may other important IBF events, like the Grand Prix in Asia- Singapour, Malaysia and Indonesia. I would like to inform you that we were just at the point of cancelling or postponement of these championships as well.

After long- timed negotiatons with the Ministry of Health the Bulgarian Minister of Sports, Mr. Vasil Ivanov succeeded to get a parmission foir us to organize the champioships as preliminary planned. The only one condition is that all delegations should be accommodated in hotels, that are under the supervision of the Organizing committee ie. the Bulgarian Badminton Federation. These means that we need to know the exact names and number of participants from each country (which we already have), apart from that we need to have the flight details of  players (time of arrival, departure, flight number) the names of the hotels and the Tour agency (if any) which has arranged the accommodation details.

Therefore I would like to ask you to take under very serious consideration this matter and the latest by Monday 26.05.2003, till 1700 hours to forward the required information to the office of the Bulgarian Badminton Federation (fax:+359 2 986 77 81; +359 2 9815728; or an e-mail:bulbad@sofiaonline.com). This information is extremelly strictly required, because we must deliver it to the attention of the Health Ministry of Bulgaria, otherwise we are facing the threat of cancellation of the event.

Please bear in mind that we have the chance to offer you some very limited number of rooms in the National Academy of Sports, where will be held the forthcoming IBF World Academy from 12- 27 July 2003. We have an offer for special price per room of USD 20- EUR 17 with brakfast and accommodation at the hotepl, announced for Olympic preparation!

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT YOUR IMMEDIATE REPLY WILL BE TRULY APPRECIATED!!!

Best regards'

President
Bulgarian Badminton Federation

Prof. Dr. Puzant Kassabian
